Hello, I’m Mona. Thank you for coming to my blog!! I’ve always appreciated the wisdom of the ages which was often summed up in an enlightened witticism or as I call them…Bon Mots.
I’ve found that these wonderful messages have actually guided me in moments of pause and have been reassuring, comforting and funny. In those moments, I also learned lessons and have gained a greater understanding of myself and respect for the laws in our Universe.
A repeated and undeniable lesson and message of Bon Mots is that we create the world around us. We even control what type of people we meet and the things that we think “just happened” to us. With your own faith, you are healed or sickened. This specific law is the law of attraction. I would describe it as “The meeting place of faith and science.” Come hang with me, read a few things on the blog, comment, and I’ll show you what I mean.
I grew up on a quiet tree-lined street in Upstate New York. As an only girl with two big brothers, I spent a lot of wonderful time in sweet solitude. I’d lay out on the grass and give names to the persistent “villagers” crawling on over my hands in my attempts to block them from their secret townships or as some may call them, insect holes. In those moments away from my brothers, I could sit silently for hours and watch everything from the hummingbird gymnast, flirting butterflies and dragon flies shooting down enemy planes. I had fashion’s latest pink and violet wings where I flew “midway” as conductor to make sure the trees bent in the same directional dance step as the cloud’s movement while the wind orchestra swayed and played piccolo sounds. I got older and even among friends, I was still quiet but now my stories graduated to people, especially strangers who had THE BEST stories of all. They didn’t have to say a word for me to know what was happening. So… I watched.
An old Bon Mot in my family is, “No one looking at you, but someone is always watching.” I’m a watcher of people and behavior. I am an uninformed narrator in that I watch people and the way they move to create my own stories. My inspiration remains the world and the quiet moments of connection. While some people adore the hand holding elderly couple in the park, I notice when they let go and who let go first. I notice the maid of honor’s face expression toward the groom just over the bride’s shoulder as he says his vows. I notice the sweet laughter between two faces and continued smile or release of a smile when one turns away. I give in to imagination and go as high as it takes me. “Fear of heights dissipate if you stop looking down.” The energy between the space tells its own tale and it doesn’t matter if I’m wrong or right in my interpretation, as long as the story is delicious. So…I write.
