So there is the belief that you are what you think about. It is true. Your constant thought about a particular thing brings that thing into your experience. So people take pictures of things they desire and stick it on their refrigerator and desks at work. These images assist in the constant view and reminder to focus on what you want so that it will manifest in your experience. People even have vision board parties, there are YouTube channels, books, and webinars to help you keep thinking about your desires. Yet there is one important missing piece…it’s even more powerful than thought. It speeds up the process of getting what you desire.

More important than watching pictures and observing images of your desires, you must watch what you feel. If you want a brand new candy apple red Nissan Z and that image is on a vision board or taped to the mirror or pinned to the ceiling in your bedroom, it is not enough if you can’t feel it. If you think about the car and think about how much it costs and remember that you don’t have the money, you push it further. If you look at the image and think about how high the insurance is going to go up, you push it further. If you hate the car you’re currently driving, you push that candy apple red Nissan Z further away. The image is everywhere and you love the car but when negative feelings surround that image like, worry, doubt or lack of gratitude accompany your view, you push that car further and further in the opposite direction of your driveway. You don’t get what you want. You get what you feel.  You think about what you feel. You get what you feel/think about. What are your beliefs about the car? Do you believe it will be a burden? Do you deserve it? Is it hard to get? Can you see yourself in it? Do you often imagine yourself in it and what it would smell like and how it will feel?

Here’s a few suggestions.

1. Test drive your car. Feel the comfortable seats, get to know your salesman, listen to the engine purr, listen to the radio. Bask in the moment and imagine that it’s yours. Imagine the sales person as your spouse or your friend who’s coming along for a ride.

2. Be grateful for the car you have now. It provides a wonderful service. It is more than a tool that gets you from A to B. It awaits your touch before it dare moves. It doesn’t ask questions and complies with your every turn. Stand in a position of gratitude. Gratitude perpetuates more opportunity to be grateful. Eventually, you’ll be grateful for your new car.

3. Stop worrying about how you will get it. Anything can happen! You may get a raise, you may be gifted from a forgotten relative, you may be the millionth customer in the car dealership when you went for the test drive. Let God/Universe/Quantum Physics worry about the how. Besides, it doesn’t feel good to worry. Which brings me to my next point.

4. Stop worrying and feel good. Even if you take your mind off the car for a moment, and just feel good, you will get more and more opportunities to feel good. Easier said than done eh? When what you want isn’t showing up, give it no more thought if the supporting thought is fear that you won’t have it.  Focus on something that makes you smile, laugh, or feel good. Stop and take notice of a funky skunk and send him your love.  Not only will he not spray you, he’ll follow you for a while. Look up at the stars and see if you can locate the big dipper. Smile at baby or chuckle at the folly and expressiveness of a cute puppy .  “Whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things…” Philippians 4:8

5. You can have it, you can have it, you have it, it’s yours…if you believe it. “Belief is a thought you keep thinking.” Abraham Hicks

6. (BONUS Suggestion) – ALWAYS Remove the specifics!

If you want to be with Dorothy for whatever reason, think less of Dorothy and more about the way you feel with Dorothy. Be grateful to Dorothy and the fact that she has shown you what you want in a mate. But Dorothy may not be the one for you. Dorothy may not have a picture of you on her vision board. She may not be wishing for you at all.  Dorothy was just stopping by in your life for some time so that when Blanche shows up, you will have a great appreciation for what she brings you. And you won’t have to spend your time wishing for someone who isn’t wishing for you because Blanche will leave no doubt in your mind that you have been what she’s been envisioning.  The truth is, the feeling is what you really want.  The package it comes in doesn’t matter if you feel loved, sexy, desired, appreciated, and uniquely special.

So continue your vision boards and post-it notes and pictures all around your desk area. Continue your affirmations about your dreams. Just remember to be mindful of your feelings. When doubt and worry and all fear related thoughts sneak it, pause and be grateful. Take a moment and think of the wonderful things that there are in this life. Taste a sweet treat, close your eyes and chew slowly savoring all of the flavors. Imagine how you will feel when your desire shows up in your experience. Then your desire will chase you!

  1. Thank you! It’s always a good idea to pay attention to what you’re feeling and remember that you have control over your reactions to everything. You have control over your thoughts and beliefs about everything. When it’s all positive, watch your life change. When it’s all negative, watch your life change. You’re a powerful being!

  2. I believe you and Hicks are on to something, based on my experiences. Tho I’ve always been more partial to Rose. I like them a little cray.

And what’s up with the red Nissan Z? Your dream car or random example?

  3. Hi Gill!
Thank you so much for your comment! I’d love to hear more about this Rose!
Abraham Hicks is one of my favorites and I believe they are leading the world into a new thought. I’m glad you connected to them/you.
The red Nissan Z is not so random, but a random example. Though I think the Z is still a cool ride, it’s not my dream car. As a true student/believer of law of attraction, I must say that I drive my dream car every day actually;-)
Feel free to come back anytime Gill!
    Thank you
